Privacy policy

ROWIE The Label Pty Ltd (ABN 69 612 629 875) (“ROWIE”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information when you visit www.rowiethelabel.com (the “Site”), shop with us online or in our boutiques, subscribe to our emails or SMS, or contact us.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Where they apply to you, we also comply with the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and US state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. What we collect

Information you give us

• Order information: name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and order details. Payment details are entered directly with our payment providers (Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, Afterpay and Klarna). We don’t see or store your full card number.
• Account and marketing information: your email and phone number when you create an account, join our mailing list or sign up for SMS, plus your preferences.
• Customer care information: what you tell us when you contact us by email, live chat or phone, including order and return details.
• Returns information: the items you’re returning, the reason, and your order details.
• Referral information: if you join our referral program, your details and the referrals you make.

Information we collect automatically

• Device and browsing information: IP address, browser type, time zone, pages and products viewed, search terms, and how you interact with the Site. We collect this using cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies (see section 7).

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

• process, ship and deliver your orders, and handle returns, refunds and store credit
• provide customer care
• send you order updates and service messages
• send marketing emails and SMS, where you’ve agreed to receive them
• run our referral and affiliate programs
• personalise the Site and our advertising
• analyse how the Site is used so we can improve it
• screen orders for fraud and protect our customers and business
• comply with our legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We share personal information with trusted service providers who help us run our business. They may only use it to provide services to us.

We may also disclose personal information if required by law, to respond to a lawful request such as a subpoena or warrant, or to protect our rights, customers or business.

We don’t sell your personal information.

4. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia. This includes the United States, Canada, Ireland and other EU countries, and the United Kingdom. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it’s handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Marketing

We’ll only send you marketing emails or SMS if you’ve agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email, and from SMS by replying STOP. Our SMS terms are available here.

6. Advertising and analytics

We and our advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show you ROWIE ads on other sites and platforms, based on how you interact with our Site and ads. You can manage or opt out of personalised ads here:

7. Cookies

Cookies are small files saved to your device when you visit the Site. We use:

• Necessary cookies to run the store, such as your cart, checkout, login and region.
• Analytics cookies to understand how the Site is used (Shopify and Google Analytics).
• Marketing cookies to personalise and measure advertising (Meta, TikTok, Google, Pinterest, Klaviyo, Awin and ReferralCandy).

Most cookies expire between 30 minutes and two years after they’re set. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where available, our cookie banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. We don’t currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

8. Automated decision-making

We don’t make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you solely by automated means.

Our platform, Shopify, uses automated tools to help protect against fraud. These tools use order, payment, device and IP address information to assess the risk of a transaction. They may temporarily block IP addresses or cards linked to repeated failed transactions, and may flag orders for review. Flagged orders may be held or cancelled. 9. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmitting information online is completely secure.

11. Your rights

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@rowiethelabel.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

• EU and UK residents: request erasure, restrict or object to processing, port your data, and withdraw consent. We process your information on the basis of your consent, to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests.
• California and other US state residents: know what we collect, and request access, correction or deletion. You can also use an authorised agent by contacting us.

We’ll respond within a reasonable time, and we may need to verify your identity first.

12. Children

The Site isn’t directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
